WORKSHOP CONTROLLER VACANCY
An exciting opportunity for a full time, permanent Workshop Controller has arisen within our Commercial Vehicle Repair Department at Manchetts Newmarket.

Our fully equipped workshop is available to all commercial vehicle repairs and servicing and houses a large team of in-house technicians, along with our dedicated parts department which services other repair agents and members of the public.
Workshop Controller– HGV and Van workshop
Duties may vary but will typically include:
Being an active physical presence across the workshop and site to proactively lead a team of 8 truck and van technicians.
Delegating workloads to the rest of the team and ensuring quality delivery of service and repairs
Providing technical support to technicians
Quality checking job card completion and promoting appropriate standards in the team
Updating franchise platforms with required information to achieve compliance KPIs
Gaining authorisation from customers and generating quotations as required
Building successful customer relationships through effective communication
Maintaining good housekeeping, security, and safety in the workshop
Ensuring workshop productivity through staff utilisation and efficiency
This role will have points of extreme intensity and will require a character who can deal with pressurised situations calmly and efficiently. The ability to multi-task is essential.
The successful applicant will possess:
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and manage teams of technicians
A customer-focused solution-driven mindset
Technical qualifications or proven experience of repairing and maintaining HGV vehicles within a franchise operation (or similar)
High standards of accuracy and the ability to use a range of data management systems (training will be given)
The ability to work under pressure and actively seek solutions to problems.
HGV Class I or II licence (preferred but not essential)
In return we offer:
• Full time, permanent role: Monday to Friday (08.00 – 17.30) + 1 in 4 Saturdays (08.00 – 12.30)
• Salary negotiable dependent upon experience ( + bonus)
• 29 days annual leave per annum
