Vehicle Breakdown Recovery Controller

We are 24-hour, 7 day a week breakdown and recovery service who aim to provide an excellent service to our contractors and customers.

We have positions available working day or night patterns, consisting of 12 hour shifts on a four on, four off shift pattern. You will be the first contact for drivers, contractors and customers who require assistance and therefore a high degree of customer service ability is required. Due to the company operating 365 days a year service, the role will include some lone working and working during weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities of the role

As a controller you will be required to manage the dispatch and distribution of drivers as well as monitor their progress. You will need to answer calls, respond to RMS messages and facilitate the productive and smooth running of the operation. The right candidate should have some experience of working in a logistics or a dispatch industry and have transferable skills which will allow them to co-ordinate and manage the dispatch and distribution of recovery technicians to incoming jobs as well as managing those on active recoveries. Full training in our operating systems will be given upon appointment.

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to multitask in a sometimes-busy environment whilst still delivering excellent customer service to our clients and customers. They should also have a working knowledge of Word and Excel as well as basic skills in English and Maths. A good geographical knowledge of the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk areas would also be beneficial in this role.

Desirable requirements.

  • Similar previous experience.
  • Knowledge of APEX and RMS Systems
  • Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
  • Working with word and excel.

Salary: £11.00-£12.00 per hour

31 days holiday (pro rata’d to 22 for 4 on 4 off shift patter)
