UK Horsebox Regulations
Horseboxes must meet MOT requirements based on weight:
- Up to 3.5 tonnes (Class 4 or 7): Tested as light commercial vehicles, with checks on brakes, suspension, tyres, emissions, and lights.
- Over 3.5 tonnes: Treated as HGVs, requiring a full DVSA inspection of steering, chassis integrity, braking systems, and load security.
