Yard Assistant/Operative

Manchetts - Bury St. Edmunds

Work Location: In person

£13.50 - £14.00 per hour

We are currently seeking to recruit a Yard Assistant who will be responsible for carrying out yard duties at both our Ingham (Bury St Edmunds) and Ipswich compounds.


Applicants must be smart in appearance with a professional attitude, have excellent customer service skills, excellent punctuality & attendance, be observant, able to complete comprehensive incident reports, and have a drive to ensure the job is completed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Ensuring the yard, SOCO and stores areas are kept safe, tidy & secure
  • Movement, loading and unloading of vehicles as directed by the admin team
  • Managing customer collections and property collections
  • Completing inception paperwork, recording damage to vehicles and taking photos
  • Recording all property within vehicles and maintaining property rotation and disposal lists
  • Ensuring racking is neat and tidy and cars are stored safely
  • General housekeeping duties, office and kitchen areas

Desirable requirements

  • FLT licence desirable (Teleporter)

Required experience

  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Forklift: 2 years (required)
